SHEF works closely with the Somerset Hills School District in a unique partnership, identifying needs and opportunities where its efforts can make a difference to teachers and children. It seeks out and supports innovation and leadership among teachers, parents and administrators alike. With public education under continuing budget constraints, the need for public/private collaboration as represented by SHEF is greater than ever.

The SHEF Grant process involves articulating goals and outcomes for an idea, itemizing costs associated with it, and evaluating its implementation. Staff members have applications electronically mailed to them at the onset of the October and February grant cycles.

After completing the grant application, the staff obtains administrative approval and forwards their request to Debra Wilkins, who presents it to the SHEF Grants Review Committee. All staff is notified of funding via email.

Parents, bring your innovative ideas to a Somerset Hills School District staff member and team up for a grant! SHEF recognizes the power of parent/teacher collaboration and funds grants sponsored by parent partners. Two heads are better than one; share your next great idea and consider a SHEF grant to make it happen!
